David Blanco-Herrero obtained his PhD at the University of Salamanca with the thesis “Lies, Prejudice and Rejection. The Use of Disinformation to Spread Hate Speech against Migrants and Refugees in Social Media: A Comprehensive Study about the Spanish Case”, directed by Professor Carlos Arcila and developed with a FPU scholarship from the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities of Spain. Since September 2023 he is a postdoctoral researcher at the Amsterdam School of Communication Research (ASCoR), at the University of Amsterdam (The Netherlands). He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management (University of León, 2014) and in Journalism (Universidad a Distancia de Madrid, 2016) and a master’s degree in Audiovisual Communication: Research and Innovation (University of Salamanca, 2018). He is editor of the academic journal Anuario Electrónico de Estudios en Comunicación Social ‘Disertaciones’.
