ACTIVITIES
The proposed activities are organized into five coordinated work packages and include:
(i) Detection and automatic monitoring of multiple types of online hate speech among young audiences on platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok, using large language models such as BERT and GPT-3;
(ii) Automated audiovisual content analysis for the automatic detection of intolerance and hate speech through multimodal models;
(iii) Identification and categorization of hate speech directed at climate activists and other emerging forms of hatred;
(iv) Surveys and focus groups with young audiences to understand their media consumption habits and their relationship with intolerance;
(v) Interviews with professionals from the audiovisual sector and the creation of short video stories aimed at reducing intolerance;
(vi) Experimental evaluation of the video stories to enhance empathy among young audiences and thereby reduce the effects of multiple forms of hate;
(vii) Design and implementation of a social intervention strategy and a training program to counter hate speech among young audiences.
